The Drug Problem got so bad that bodyguards would check his pulse as he slept, Says Beiber
Justin Bieber opens up about his transformation from being a reckless child to a reformed personality.
Justin Bieber, the 27-year-old singer, freely spoke to GQ magazine in an interview that revealed information on his problem with drugs and the relationship he has with Christianity and his wife, Hailey Baldwin.
In an interview with Zach Baron, the journalist, Beiber told him.
“I have a wife who I adore, who I feel comforted by. I feel safe. I feel like my relationship with God is wonderful. And I have this outpouring of love that I want to be able to share with people, you know?”
In the past years, the Canadian superstar got a reputation for being a bad boy with bad behavior and having a serious drug habit.
Bieber told GQ that it got to the point where the security guards would have to come into his room every night to check his pulse and ensure that he was alive.
Furthermore, he said
“It was like I had all this success and it was still like: I’m still sad, and I’m still in pain. And I still have these unresolved issues. And I thought all the success was going to make everything good. And so for me, the drugs were a numbing agent to just continue to get through.”
In 2009, Justin Bieber’s first single. ‘One Time’ went platinum, and he was only 15 years old. After that, he became a global star before his increasingly erratic behavior began with some brush with the law.
Beiber announced in November 2018 that he had married Hailey Baldwin.
In March 2019, he stated that he would be taking time away from music to concentrate on his mental health.
He continued to discuss his struggles in June 2020. He revealed that he had Lyme disease.
Beiber, in his interview, said
“To be honest, I am a lot healthier, and I did have a lot of things going on. I did have mono, and I do have Lyme disease.”
He further added
“But I was also navigating a lot of emotional terrains, which had a lot to do with it. And we like to blame a lot of things on other things. Sometimes… It’s a lot of times just your stuff.”
Beiber said that after having a difficult start, his marriage was the positive force he needed.
Regarding his marriage, he said
“The first year of marriage was tough,” he said, “because there was a lot, going back to the trauma stuff.”
Recently he says that they are creating moments as a couple, as a family, and building on them.
When the couple tied the knot, Baldwin was 21, and Beiber was 24.
Another reason for Beiber’s uplift in his health has been his faith.
Beiber said
God “is grace. Every time we mess up, He’s picking us back up every single time. That’s how I view it. And so it’s like, ‘I made a mistake. I won’t dwell in it. I don’t sit in shame. But it makes me want to do better.’ ”
Beibers’ most recent album was Justice, which was released in March.
