A Judge of ‘American Idol’ to Miss Live Show Due to Covid Diagnosis

A judge on American Idol will be sitting out the live show because he got tested positive for Covid-19.

Luke Bryan on Monday announced how he will be sitting out the first like show of American Idol after he got diagnosed with having Covid.

Bryan took to social media, saying:

“I’m sad to say I won’t be a part of tonight’s first live @AmericanIdol show. I tested positive for COVID, but I’m doing well and look forward to being back at it soon.”

The news got confirmed by ABC.

Furthermore, they let the fans know that the former judge of American Idol, Paula Abdul, will step in as the guest judge alongside Lionel Richie and Katy Perry.

The ABC network posted a statement on their Instagram, which read:

“Luke will get missed at our first #AmericanIdol LIVE show tonight, but he is resting now in quarantine at home, and we’re wishing him a speedy recovery.”

When the show aired on the FOX network, Paula Abdul was the judge on American Idol for ten seasons.

This will be the first time for Paula Abdula to appear as a judge on American Idol since it moved to the ABC network.

One can catch American Idol on Monday at 8 pm ET on ABC Network.
