Willow Smith Shares She’s Polyamorous on ‘Red Table Talk’

Anyone who wants to share their truth, then the place to do it these days is “Red Table Talk.”

It has been the same thing for Willow Smith.

On Wednesday, on the episode of the show “Red Table Talk” of Facebook, Willow Smith, who is the 20-year-old daughter of Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith, revealed she is polyamorous, which means a person is in a romantic relationship with more than one person at the same time.

The “Red Table Talk” gets co-hosted by Willow, her mom, Jada, and her maternal grandmother Adrienne Banfield Norries “Grammy”.

Willow got asked by Pinkett how she got to the decision that she is polyamorous.

To this, Willow Smith replied:

“With polyamory, I feel like the main foundation is the freedom to be able to create a relationship style that works for you and not just stepping into monogamy because that’s what everyone around you says is the right thing to do.”

Further, she said:

“So, I was like, how can I structure the way that I approach relationships with that in mind?.. Also, doing research into polyamory, the main reasons why monogamous relationships — or why marriage, why divorces happen — is infidelity.”

Last year her mother made headlines when she revealed that she has an entanglement. That is why her mother understood.

Pinkett Smith said:

“When you were like, ‘Hey, this is my get down’, I was like, ‘I totally get it…Wanting to set up your life in a way that you can have what it is that you want, I think anything goes as long as the intentions are clear. You know what I mean?”

However, her grandmother had the opposite thoughts as she said:

“For somebody like me, it feels like it’s really all just centered around sex.”

Her Grammy further said:

“Even outside of the counseling that you get from your pastor before you get married, ’cause most people that get married, you know, will get counseling from their pastors because there is a religious aspect to it, a God aspect to it…And we had a deep conversation about, what does this means to us? What do we wanna create for ourselves? And we actually talked about polyamory, and was that something that we wanted to explore? We had that conversation.”

However, willow smith says that for her it’s not about sex; it’s more about the fact that she the freedom.

She said:

“In my friend group, I’m the only polyamorous person, and I have the least sex out of all of my friends.”
