Kate Winslet Insisted ‘bulgy bit of belly’ to Not Get Edited out of ‘Mare of Easttown’

According to Kate Winslet, in her sex scene for Mare of Easttown, her TV series, she insisted that her ‘bulgy bit of belly’ should not get edited out, and neither should her pictures get retouched in the promotional poster.

The British actress, Kate Winslet, explained to New York Times that the director of the show has said that he will remove her stomach shot during the HBO miniseries scene, to which the reply he got from Winslet was ‘Don’t you dare!’

The British actress said that the posters that she got, she sent them back twice after she notices that there was airbrush editing on her skin.

Winslet, who many know from the role she did in Titanic, has spoken many times about the pressure that gets puts on actresses on how they should maintain their appearance in a certain way throughout their career.

She faces a lot of criticism when she rose to her fame in the 1990s about her weight.

In 2003, Winslet said that she did not approve of the airbrushing of her photographs that British magazine GQ did. However, the magazine did apologize to her.

In 2008, Winslet told Vanity Fair about her starting acting years:

“I was fat. I didn’t know any fat famous actresses. I just did not see myself in that world at all, and I’m being very sincere.”
