Not only because of their elegant styles but more of their precision and reliability. In this article, we will be giving you a brief history of how it came into existence as well as some of its watches that you can choose from.
Brief History of Tag Heuer
Before it became TAG Heuer, there was Heuer. It was founded in the year 1860 as Heuer by Edouard Heuer when he was 20 years old, though he already started his apprenticeship when he was 14 years old as a watchmaker. He started making pocket watches, mostly silver. When he started Heuer up, he wanted to build it on two strong foundations – technical innovation and family leadership. Probably why until now, it is still in existence.
And then 1869, he created a crown–operated, the keyless system with his first patent. Come 1887, Heuer patented the oscillating pinion to make the chronograph function with the use of pushbuttons, and up to this day, some of the known watchmakers are still using this technique. Moving forward, in 1892, Edouard Heuer died, and his sons took over the company. And just like how creative and innovative their father is, in 1895, they were awarded a new patent for creating one of the water-resistant pocket watches. The Time of Trip was the first dashboard chronograph in 1911 that is crafted for automobile and aircraft uses. One of their creations that made them world-class is their creation of the Mikrograph, an accurate stopwatch and very first of its kind with 1/100 of a second.
There are still a lot of reasons why Tag Heuer is known for its accurateness and elegant designs. Tag Heuer has a great history. And one thing is for sure, they came to be Tag Heuer because they serve their purpose and are continuing the legacy of their perfect creations.
