Exciting news about the Hollywood Bowl is how it’s re-opening, coming back.
On Friday, the famed amphitheater Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles announced that they will be re-opening this summer, a year after it had to close down because of the pandemic.
They plan to re-open in May. However, there will be limited seating capacity for the audience of around 4,00 and will increase as the summer goes on. Normally the seating capacity in the theater would have been 17,000.
Kaiser Permanente will be sponsoring the first four concerts at the Bowl.
The four concerts will be free for essential workers and first responders. It will display affection and gratitude for what they have done through the pandemic for Los Angeles.
On May 11, they will let everyone know of the further details regarding the artists and the summer concert dates.
In a release they stated:
“As we prepare to reopen, the health and safety of our audiences, artists, and staff is our top priority. We are committed to ensuring that you have an exceptional Bowl experience, with confidence in the policies and procedures designed for the safety of our guests.”
Normally, around 110 concerts would get hosted by Hollywood Bowl during a typical summer.
According to the venue, it has the largest outdoor amphitheaters in the world.
The last time it closed was in 1951 for 12 days. After that for the last 98 years, they never closed down, until the last year, when they had no choice because of the pandemic.
