Who is Daniel Kaluuya?
Indeed, he’s quite the enigmatic character, but one who’s certainly not above a little mystery. And when he appears onscreen, you’ll find yourself as intrigued as you are delighted by him. After all, there’s no doubt that he’s not just an actor. He’s a force to be reckoned with. He’s a rising star, a man on a mission.
After all, this man won the first major award of his career for a film called “Dope” and has just been nominated for a Golden Globe for his role as a black cop in the hit series “Black Mirror.” Yet Kaluuya’s career has not been an easy one. It’s been a bumpy one, filled with doubt and missteps. And yet, at the moment, it is one of the most exciting ones in Hollywood.
Kaluuya was born in Accra, Ghana, in 1978. He was raised by his mother, a teacher, and his grandmother, a nurse. The only son in his family, Kaluuya was a product of his parents’ aspirations.
His father was a doctor who died when Daniel was nine. And Kaluuya’s mother became a schoolteacher and eventually moved to London. There, she became a professor at the University of Westminster.
And it was in London, Kaluuya began to pursue his interest in acting. At 16, he won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, which helped him further develop his craft.
